What We Love

  • Stunning larger OLED display with up to 2000 nits brightness
  • Thinnest Apple Watch ever at just 9.7mm
  • Excellent fitness and health tracking accuracy
  • Fast charging reaches 80% in 30 minutes

What Could Be Better

  • Battery still limited to 18 hours typical use
  • Premium price, especially for titanium models
  • Incremental upgrade from Series 9
  • No support for Android devices

Design & Build Quality

The Apple Watch Series 10 represents Apple's most refined wearable design yet. At just 9.7mm thick, it's noticeably slimmer than its predecessors while maintaining the iconic rounded square aesthetic that has defined the Apple Watch lineup.

Apple offers the Series 10 in aluminum ($399+), stainless steel ($699+), and the new titanium finish ($749+). The titanium model particularly impressed us with its premium feel and scratch resistance during our three weeks of daily wear.

The digital crown and side button feel precise and satisfying to use. Water resistance remains at 50 meters, and we had no issues swimming laps or showering with the watch.

Display

This is where the Series 10 truly shines. The new OLED display stretches to 1.96 inches on the 46mm model – about 9% larger than Series 9. More importantly, peak brightness hits 2000 nits, making it readable even in direct sunlight during outdoor runs.

The always-on display has been significantly improved. Apple's new wide-angle OLED technology means you can read the time from sharper angles without needing to raise your wrist. This subtle improvement made a noticeable difference in daily use.

Fitness & Health Tracking

We tested the Series 10 across multiple workout types: running (both outdoor and treadmill), cycling, swimming, and strength training. Heart rate tracking remained accurate within 2-3 BPM compared to our chest strap reference.

GPS accuracy impressed us during outdoor runs, with tracks closely matching our dedicated Garmin device. The new depth gauge and water temperature sensor are welcome additions for swimmers and water sports enthusiasts.

Health features include FDA-cleared ECG, blood oxygen monitoring, fall detection, and crash detection. Sleep tracking provides detailed breakdowns of sleep stages, though we still prefer dedicated sleep trackers like Oura for comprehensive sleep analysis.

Battery Life

Battery life remains the Apple Watch's Achilles heel. Apple quotes 18 hours, and in our testing, we averaged 16-20 hours depending on workout frequency and always-on display usage. Heavy fitness users will need to charge daily.

The good news: fast charging is excellent. We went from 0 to 80% in just 30 minutes, and a full charge took about 75 minutes. For most users, a quick morning charge while showering will suffice.

Software & Features

watchOS 11 brings meaningful improvements including the new Smart Stack widgets, enhanced workout views, and improved Siri integration. The double-tap gesture for controlling the watch without touching the screen works reliably and is genuinely useful when your hands are full.

iPhone integration remains best-in-class. Notifications, calls, and messages work seamlessly. Apple Pay is fast and reliable, and the App Store offers more quality apps than any other smartwatch platform.

The Verdict

The Apple Watch Series 10 is the best smartwatch for iPhone users, period. The larger, brighter display is a meaningful upgrade, and the thinner design makes it more comfortable than ever. While battery life remains a limitation and the upgrade from Series 9 is incremental, it's still our top recommendation for anyone in the Apple ecosystem.

If you're coming from a Series 7 or earlier, the upgrade is substantial and well worth it. Series 8 and 9 owners should only upgrade if the larger display is compelling to them.
